RIPPLED EARTH KAYAKING
Safety Is Paramount
Rippled Earth Kayaking has a full and comprehensive Safe Operational Plan which is externally audited annually.
The environment and the sport of kayaking have inherent dangers associated with it.
Rippled Earth kayaks operate on various lakes in the southern lakes of New Zealand. The mountainous terrain and weather patterns of the 45th parallel create hazards on our lakes such as:
- Hypothermia
- Wind and large waves
- Drowning
- Collision with other vessels
- Activation of pre-existing medical conditions
Rippled Earth holds an extensive Health & Safety programme to identify and mitigate the hazards encountered on our tours.
Our staff are trained and equipment maintained to ensure tours operate in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures.
These Health & Safety systems are audited by Adventure Mark as per New Zealand’s Health & Safety at work Act 2015 and Health & Safety at Work (Adventure Activity) Regulations 2016.
